2016 Community Celebration: Closing Out 75 Years!

December 1, 2016

Closing out our 75th 'Diamond Anniversary' year, United Way volunteers, division chairs, and drive chairs gathered at the Ramada Inn and Convention Center on November 29th for the reveal of final 2016 Campaign totals.  There was plenty to celebrate as a final total of $879,418 was revealed, exceeding this year's goal of $875,000.

Shawna Hilbert, 2016 Drive Chair, shared highlights from the campaign including the Lazy River Duck Run that sold 16,544 ducks to net $59,400, and the Youth Division Penny Campaign that raised $2,718.91. She also thanked the Pacesetter companies for combining to raise 70 percent of the campaign goal.

Cristal Menke was recognized as the Outstanding Volunteer of the Campaign. Cristal has volunteered with the United Way since 2007, becoming a division chair in 2012; she has also helped with the Duck Run from 2007-14. She has been a member of the United Way Board of Directors for the past three years.
The CHS Sparkle Cheerleaders helped revel our total this year, and also led the crowd in a couple of cheers.

A special thank you goes out to all those involved in this year's campaign, especially to those who have chosen to give so generously to the United Way.  Your support will go to help those in need by improving opportunities for better education, financial stability, and health. Thank you!
