Reseach shows that a child who begin school with lower literacy and social skills will become more prone to social problems later in life including unemployment, poverty, obesity and incarceration - impacting not only our children but the economy as well.  The United Way coordinates two direct programs for school readiness:  the Imagination Library and The Born Learning Trail.

As part of the local Child Well Being Coalition, the United Way works with the School/Community committee to promote the social-emotional well being of young children and their families along with school readiness and success.
