Wages have not kept pace with the rising cost of housing, healthcare, and education and currently, 40 million Americans are working in low-paying jobs without basic health and retirement benefits. Assisting our neighbors in poverty is multifaceted. insuring that the basic needs of food and shelter are met is the first step. Identifying ways to improve the financial stability of low-income families is the next. By developing life skills and improving employment, individuals are emplowered to earn a living wage and provide for their family. THe CAUW also focuses on connecting people to the resources already in place, providing the stability needed to stay out of crisis.
