Volunteer Opportunities:

-Pals and Play Respite Days - Volunteers needed to provide one-on-one support to kids with developmental disabilities one Sunday afternoon per month from 1-4 p.m.

-Parents for Parents - Volunteers provide supervision for kids while parents meet.  This will most likely be a week night, possibly 6-8 p.m.

Big Pals-Little Pals

Volunteers are needed to mentor the youth in our program.  The Volunteers and youth spend time together doing activities they enjoy own their own schedule.Volunteers are asked to meet weekly with their mentee for at least one year.

Youth development and leadership

There are various opportunities to volunteer with the Scouts!  The Petah La Shauro District encompasses all Boy Scout programs in Platte, Nance, Boone and Colfax counties in Nebraska.  Volunteer unit leaders for both Cub Scout Packs and Scouts BSA are always needed.  Also needed are members of our District Committee which is our volunteer leadership team that oversees district operations.

Court Appointed Special Advocates representing the best interests of children of abuse and neglect in juvenile court

CACA Connection volunteers are trained to advocate in the best interest of abused and neglected children that have been forced into the foster care system through no fault of their own.  No legal background is required, all training is provided by the program staff.  Volunteers must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a background check.

Volunteers 15 years and over are needed to tutor students.  Bilingual is a plus!  Tutors are needed for four subjects: Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts.  Volunteers can also help with the Get Out to Vote campaign, which is all about voter education and the importance of voting.

Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks, including information taker, picking up donations from stores, and working at keeping product ready to distribute.  Volunteers are asked to be mature and able to think for themselves while taking instructions.

Mentoring program for youth

Volunteer Opportunities: TeamMates volunteers spend one class or luinch period with a student each week at the child's school throughout the school year.  The mentor/mentee pair can do a variety of fun things together such as play games, do crafts, shoot hoops, or just sit and talk. 

Volunteers must be 18 years of age and graduated from high school and pass reference, criminal, and child abuse checks.
