Volunteer Opportunities in the Columbus Area

Working with Children

Arc of Platte County - Advocates for the right of citizens with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.  There are many ways to volunteer for the Arc of Platte County.  Visit their volunteer webpage HERE

Big Pals - Little Pals - A mentoring organization that recruits men and women volunteers and matches them with boys and girls fro single parent homes.  Mentors provide children iwth an adult friend and role model.  Big Pals are carefully screened volunteers at least 17 years of age or older, who can spend a couple hours a week with their Little Pal.  To volunteer as a Big Pal mentor, call Big Pals-Little Pals at 402-563-1081 or email bigpals@megavision.com.  Visit their website www.megavision.com/bigpals.

CASA Connection - If you love children and would like to see them in a safe, happy home environment, volunteer to advocate for children who have been removed fromtheir homes because of abuse or neglect.  CASA volunteers are Court Appointed Special Advocates.  To volunteer call the CASA office at 402-563-4944 or email casacon@megavision.com for more information.
