American Red Cross

DAT opportunities:

The American Red Cross is desperately seeking Disaster Action TEam (DAT) volunteers in the Columbus area to help local families cope with emergencies.  As a DAT member, you can provide emotional support, financial assistance and information to help families recover after disaster strikes.  We'll provide all the trianing you need so you can be ready to have a major impact on those who need us the most.  Learn more!  https://rdcrss.org/30FxkjT


Camp Luther 1050 Rd. 4, Schuyler

All kinds of volunteers are welcome at Camp Luther. 

-Maintenance on projects that can include carpentry, painting, road grating, and fixing odds and ends.

-Groundskeeping including mowing, clearing trails, clearing snow, and clearing weeds.

-Clearning cabins and other buildings

-Help in the kitchen including prep, cooking, serving, and cleaning up.

-His Kids Buddies are volunteers for His Kids fall and spring retreats and summer camps.  Volunteers walk alongside a person with special needs as they experience camp.

All volunteers are trained and supervised.  His Kids volunteers must undergo a background check.  Other volunteers must undergo a background check if around campers. His Kids Buddies must be high school age or older and not convicted of physical or sexual abuse or assault.

Columbus After School Program

Volunteers work with school age children after school, Elementary K-4 and Middle SChool 5-8th grade.  You will help with homework and fun activities.  Volunteers must be of good moral character and meet with Program Director to be approved as a volunteer.

Bell Ringers are needed during the Christmas season from November 12, 2018 to December 24, 2018.  Volunteers are also need in the retail store.  Volunteers are required to go through application process and background check.  Store volunteers will have Safe From Harm training with 90 days of being approved.
