The mission of the Columbus Area United Way is to focus resources to measurably improve the education, health and financial stability of our community.
Education: increase to 95 percent the number of high school graduate planning to continue their education (post-secondary education, career certification or military training).
Financial stability: reduce to 5 percent the number of families who are below poverty (families with related children under the age of 18).
Health: increase the number of youth and adults who avoid risky behavior and are healthy (practicing safe sex/abstinence; are not overweight; do not use tobacco, drugs or alcohol; and are not involved in violence).
These goals are ambitious, but with your help, and by utilizing our core strengths — a national network, committed partners and public engagement capacity — we can achieve them.
Our Service Area
The Columbus Area United Way serves Platte, Colfax, Boone, Nance, Polk and Butler counties.
Raised here, stays here. Ninety-nine cents of every dollar given to the Columbus Area United Way stays in the Columbus area community. The other one penny goes to pay national affiliation fees which provide valuable resources for the local United Way.
