East Central District Health Department
The East Central District Health Department (ECDHD) is a state-approved district health department that provides public health services to its four-county service area of Boone, Colfax, Nance and Platte counties in Nebraska. Programs include: Community Health Hubs (breast and colon Cancer screening); Early Development Network (early intervention services for families with children birth to age three with developmental delays and/or health care needs): Emergency Preparedness; Food Safety; Lead and Mold safety; Radon and Water testing; Immunizations (Adult, children and travel vaccines); Substance Abuse Prevention (alcohol, tobacco and drugs); West Nile; WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) Food Program.

Provides food & to those that struggle with hunger statewide through the Mobile Food Pantry project which, with one-day distributions at various locations provides shelf stable & perishable food items free to individuals & families. If eligible, there are various types including rent, energy assistance (electric & gas) emergency housing & food, medical aid, transportation, household goods & furniture. Food pantry can help with canned goods & perishable items such as baby formula, diapers, paper goods & toiletries. We also provide clothing for emergency situations.

The First United Methodist Church & Outreach Center
Provides these programs to address food insecurity & build community. The Outreach Center Food Pantry is open Thursdays 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. or by appointment. Enter at SE corner of the building. There is also a Blessing Box located outside on the SE corner for folks in need of just an item or two. Wednesday Nite Community Meal from 5:00 - 5:30 for pick-up (in the alley) or dine in available from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. (suggested donation of $3) Call before NOON on Wednesday to reserve a meal. The community Meal is only during the school year.
